Melissa grew up in the small farm town of Enumclaw, WA. She moved to Bellingham in 2007 to attend Western Washington University and never left! She fell in love with the city and living near the water, and the mountains fed her outdoor enthusiast appetite.

Melissa has over 10 years of professional experience serving youth and teaching adults in Special Education and as a Community Instructor. Her passion for teaching stems from a desire to meet individuals where they are at and find creative, unique ways to provide for their individualized needs.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys cooking (and eating!), thrifting, watercolor painting, and trying new coffee shops! She also loves to travel and explore our beautiful National Parks!
