Kathy and her husband and daughter moved to Bellingham in 1990. She joined Blue Skies for Children in 2001 after reading a "Little Wish" from a little boy who wanted nothing more than a basketball hoop. The heartfelt letter he had written touched Kathy's heart. Little Wishes was unique to Blue Skies for Children, and Kathy believed it's what could really help a child to make it in life.
Kathy served on the Board of Directors for 8 years, 5 years as President. In 2009 Kathy left the board to become a CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocate for kids in a dependency with the State. During that time, she has been the eyes and ears of many children for the court.
In 2015, Kathy has returned to the Board of Directors, once again as President. "My goal is to build a strong board to continue to grow the agency, educate the public in our wonderful mission statement... and have a great time doing it"
