Blue Skies for Children | A non-profit serving children ages 6

Blue Skies is accepting the following items at this time:

Donate your gently used musical instruments to our Instrument Loaner Program - the more instruments we have in our inventory, the more children we can help through this program each year. Each donated instrument saves us $360 to $720 in instrument rental costs per year.
Collect and donate empty ink & toner cartridges (all brands and sizes) to our recycle program - in 2009, we saved nearly $1,000 in office supply costs due to recycling donated ink cartridges.
Donate office supplies (ream of white copy paper, #10 envelopes, stamps, #74,#76, #96, or #97 ink cartridges, gift cards to office max or office depot) - we saved over $600 in donated supplies in 2009 due to supply donations.
Consign gently used adult's or children's clothing in Blue Skies name - we earned over $1500 in gift cards to local consignment shops due to your donations that were used by our kids in times of need.
Donate items to our Annual Dinner & Charity Auction - or - to our St. Patrick's Day Casino Night.

Sponsor-A-Child

Our signature program offers our donors an opportunity to support a child right here in Whatcom or Skagit County. The program assigns one sponsor to one child enrolled in an ongoing enrichment activity. Although the two shall never meet in person, the sponsor will receive a photo of their child, their age, their personal story and quarterly updates on the child’s growth and progress in their activity. Cost to sponsor a child is $50 per month. Our community has responded overwhelmingly positive to this program as 100% of each monthly donation is designated to direct services in support of their child. We're looking for individuals like you who will make a commitment to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in Whatcom County. Will you commit to send a monthly donation?   You may discontinue at any time. Below are the different levels of commitment, every donation makes a difference.

Sponsor a program (such as our Bicycles & Helmets, Back to School, Emergency Program, etc)

Solicit employer matching funds

Fundraise

Team up with friends, coworkers, or your church & create a 5/10/15 donation club (5 friends, 10 months, $15/month each)

Initiate $5 Jeans Friday at work ($10 if you don’t wear jeans)

Put on a community event - concert, picnic, carwash, walk-a-thon, etc.

Take up a collection at your holiday party, bunco group or bridge party, church group, etc.

Volunteer

Blue Skies offers volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We are often in need of volunteers for our fundraising events or to help with folding newsletters or stuffing and labeling invitations. Please call for more information - 360.756.6710.
