Nate Wallace - Associated Students Business Director, WWU
Tell me something about yourself:
I am 22 years old, and a current student of Western Washington University just starting my senior year. I am working towards a combined major in Finance and Economics with minors in Accounting and Business Administration, and plan to attend Law School after graduation.
What interested and motivated you to join the BSFC board?
I wanted to volunteer in the community and gain leadership experience at the same time, and I felt that sitting on a board of directors could achieve this goal.
What goals do you have as a board member?
I would like to continue to improve the organization and its presence in the community through efficient policies and effective branding of the BSFC mission, in hopes that more support can be raised and more children benefited.
Sum up your experience and involvement in the community:
Before starting with BSFC, I worked with AARP preparing income tax returns for low-income individuals and families. I helped with data entry for the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association and tutored students at Whatcom Community College and Western Washington University in economics, accounting and finance.
Describe your professional career:
Currently I am the 2009-2010 WWU Associated Students Business Director, a central governance role for the Associated Students organization at Western Washington University. I am charged with the day to day financial flow of the organization and serve as an interpreter for policy and procedure compliance. Before taking on this new role last June I worked out of the Bellingham corporate office for Matrix Service Inc for the last four years. My duties included office and equipment support and miscellaneous jobs around the building.

Describe your hobbies and interests:
My interests include business and economics. My hobbies include exercising/working out, hanging out with friends, hiking, skiing, swimming etc.
