I grew up on the East Coast, but spent most of my adult life on the West Coast. I went to school in California and have been in this area for the last 4.5 years.
What interested and motivated you to join the BSFC board
Helping children is a big part of what I do professionally. I am also a mentor and youth leader at my fellowship. I like working with others to make children's lives the best they can be.
What goals do you have as a board member?
My goal is be more comfortable asking for donations to this wonderful cause. I look forward to networking with this group of people.
What motivates you in life?

My parents and community are my primary motivation. I love being out in nature as much as possible. Preserving our earth is one of my prime motivations as well.
Sum up your experience and involvement in the non-profit world
I have worked at Whatcom Counseling for 4 years, which is a Community Mental Health facility affiliated with the United Way. Most of my career has been in Community Mental Health. I also am on the Board of Directors at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship, which is socially active in our community and around the world.
Describe your professional career
I am primarily a therapist at this time. This entails individual and group therapies. I have worked with a spectrum of ages and ethnicities during my 13 years as a therapist. I have taught at the college level and currently have a private practice focused on psychological testing. I am contracted to do Parenting Assessments and General Assistance Assessments, but am competent to do IQ and memory testing as well.

Funny, smart, flexible.
Describe your hobbies and interests.
Hiking and biking the outdoors is a major passion of mine. I enjoy skiing and playing tennis when I can. I have traveled throughout the Western world and look forward to traveling in South America and South Pacific.
Anything else you would like to share?
I would describe my primary affiation as a Tree Hugger
