What motivated you to join the BSFC board?

I learned about BSFC through my work.  US Bank has sponsored grants for BSFC.  It was brought to my  attention that their  was no (US Bank) employee involvement for this organization.  I called to offer to volunteer … and started right away helping out.  After a year of volunteering, I was invited to become a board member.  I am very proud to be on this board. I am surrounded by a great group of people that really have a passion for helping children.

What are your goals?

I strive to help build awareness in our community.  History shows us that one person can truly make a difference.

Favorite Quote?

“All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, until they take root in our personal experience”.  Johann Wolfgang Van Goethe (1749-1832).  I challenge all  who read this to make that difference today & give to those less fortunate.

What motivates you?

The word “can’t” motivates me.  I learned back in high school from my color guard instructor that “can’t” is not in the dictionary.  Believe me when I tell you it was a hard lesson to learn... when you are young and stubborn.  I must have run a million laps (smile).  I have passed that very same valuable life lesson on to my children.  If you believe you can do something, then the sky is the limit.

How have you been involved in the community ?

I have been involved with DSHS/DCFS, the Bellingham and Blaine School Districts, the YMCA, and The Opportunity Council.
